Whilst bamboo flooring is extremely durable and hard wearing, it is always advisable to take good care of it and protect it from potentially damaging elements after it has been installed. Bamboo flooring needs to be kept free of dust, dirt and grit.
Floor must be clean after installation, mainly using a lightly dampened mop with no-wax floor cleaner, specifically formulated for hardwood floors (preferrably non-toxic, environmentally safe products).
Sweeping regularly with a soft broom or with a vacum cleaner will ensure that dust will not damage it. Remove spills and dirt promptly.
It is advisable to place mats at all exterior entrances and in the doorways leading to each room, as well as mats in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room to protect against spills.
Lift furniture when moving, instead of sliding across the surface. Under no circumstance be tempted to drag any heavy furniture item across a bamboo floor as may leave deep gauge or scrape marks .
Also, you may install floor protectors under all funitiure legs, and replaced them periodically. Do not allow floor cleaner or any other liquid to remain longstanding on your bamboo floor.
Try to use the bamboo flooring manufacturers recommended cleaning products on your floors. Remember that spills should be cleaned up immediately.
